He was the Producer and Host of a one hour, daily radio program, called "Here's to Your Health," which was broadcast internationally over Radio Genesis. During the time Dr. Forness was serving as Director of the National Center for Sports Medicine, he also created what is still believed to be the most comprehensive set of clinical tests, measurements and examinations to determine a person's true age--called the biophysiological age. That test is called The L.I.F.E. TEST which stands for Longevity Indicator Functional Examination.
He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and holds its highest-level certification -- Director of Health and Fitness; one of fewer than 250 health care specialists in the world to hold that distinction. In addition, he was admitted to the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and was honored to write many of the questions for the first-ever board certification examinations on anti-aging medicine. These examinations were given for the first time in December 1997. He has authored many general health and fitness articles for newspapers and magazines.
He is a former United States Marine, is a licensed pilot (with Instrument Rating) and holds a First Degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo. He is also an avid weightlifter and reads over 300 books per year. He continues to perform classified consulting with various U.S. military entities in what the general public knows as "special operations" units. He has been personally involved in the health and fitness arena for 40 years.
Dr. Forness is currently a Dean of a major health care university in the southeastern United States, as well as serving as adjunct faculty at three other health care universities.
He is single and lives in the Atlanta area.

A description of: Don't Get Duped - A Consumer's Guide to Health and Fitness
Don't Get Duped - A Consumer's Guide to Health and Fitness is a book about truth, which is a scarce commodity in the health and fitness industry.
The book should be considered a "survival manual" for the more than one hundred fifty million Americans who annually spend more than forty billion dollars -- needlessly -- a on cornucopia of vitamins, minerals, herbal concoctions, ergogenic aids, fitness equipment, fitness apparel and alternative health care treatments.
Dr. Forness exposes the top layers of fraud and deceit, clearly illustrating the only legitimate way for anyone to prove whether a product works as advertised or not.
As the author cuts deeper and deeper into the industry, he lays bare layer after layer of subtle sophistication used by manufacturers and retailers alike to separate the consumer from their money.
Unlike most advocacy books, this one explains the essence and correct functions of the products and services. Because of this, the reader becomes more knowledgeable about the products and services than the manufacturers and retailers. Also unlike most advocacy books, the author did not write the book to entice the reader into buying something in which the author has a financial interest.
By including information from "insider insiders," the reader is offered a rare opportunity to view how the misleading ads are constructed.
The reader will want to be sure to look and see who are the winners of the coveted "Bozo du Jour" Award. The award was created by the author, and is bestowed on those individuals and entities who present truly stupid ads.
The ultimate goal is to make the reader self-sufficient in evaluating any industry ad, as well as being able to physically measure the results of the claims that are made. By judicious use of VIP's -- Very Important Points -- and concise checklists throughout the book, the reader is offered the most important facts in the form they can use.
Knowledge is power, providing that the knowledge is the truth.
Don't Get Duped - A Consumer's Guide to Health and Fitness presents the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
It is based on more author's with more than forty years' experience with the industry.
